Among the best heavyweight contenders from the 1970s, fought everyone from Muhammad Ali to George Foreman, compiling a profession record of 34-19-2. 1He was awarded the Knight Bachelor of the Order of the British Empire in the 2002 Queen's New Year's Honours List for his services to broadcasting.
