Jimmy Heath

Jazz saxophonist who all performed, composed, and arranged with and for a few of the very most famous jazz music artists. He was the champion from the 2003 NEA Jazz Experts Award. He started as an alto saxophonist but turned to tenor in the 1940s and performed with Mls Davis’s music group in 1959. He was the principal author of the 1956 record Playboys which highlighted Artwork Pepper and Chet Baker. He elevated Adam Mtume, an R&B vocalist. Heath continues to be known as Small Bird, a mention of Charlie Parker’s nickname Parrot.
