Perhaps most well-known for his role in expanding the Bay Area Rapid Transit system, this Democratic politician served in both California State Assembly (representing Region 24) as well as the California State Senate (representing Region 15). After gaining a bachelor’s level in political research from San Jose Condition University, he started his political profession as an associate from the San Jose Town Council. He sat over the Santa Clara State Plank of Supervisors for over ten years. He was raised in San Jose, California. He provides two stepchildren, Gregory and Tag Chubb, through his relationship to Patricia Lafkas. He and fellow Democrat Alex Padilla both offered over the California Condition Senate through the early 2000s.
