Jelly Roll Morton

First great jazz composer whose “Jelly Move Blues” became the first jazz structure to become published. He was also jazz’s 1st arranger. He was greatly affected by Tony Jackson. He started touring the American South in minstrel displays in 1904. He became known for composing “Wolverine Blues,” “Dark Bottom level Stomp,” and “I Idea I Heard Friend Bolden State,” aswell as pioneering the Spanish tinge. He was created to F.P. Lamothe and Louise Monette. His parents had been never wedded and instead experienced a common-law relationship. He confident his religious mom that he was a night time watchman at a barrel manufacturing plant when he really was playing piano at a brothel. He wedded Mabel Bertrand in 1928. He documented alongside clarinetist Artie Shaw.
