Jeanne Lanvin


French developer who founded the Lanvin style house. Her styles were the elevation of fashion within the 1920s and 1930s and gained two Légion d’Honneur honours. She started her profession as an apprentice hatmaker at age 16. She was honored a French Legion of Honor in 1926 for Chevalier, and another in 1938 for Officier. In 1895, she wedded Count number Emilio di Pietro, with whom she acquired little girl Marguerite di Pietro. They divorced in 1903. She wedded Xavier Melet in 1907. She’s dressed film superstar Marlene Dietrich.
