Jay Norwood Darling

Cartoonist who also won the Pulitzer Reward for Editorial Cartooning twice: once in 1924 for his toon, In CLASSIC USA, and in addition in 1943 for Just what a Place to get a Waste materials Paper Salvage Marketing campaign. He became a reporter for the Sioux Town Journal in 1900, and joined the brand new York Herald, where he started sketching editorial cartoons. He developed the Federal government Duck Stamp system to raise cash for safety of migratory parrots, and drew the 1st stamp. He wedded Genevieve Pendleton in 1906. Chief executive Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed him to mind in the U.S. Biological Study, the predecessor from the U.S. Seafood and Wildlife Services.
