Jan Kaplicky

Known for developing the Media Center at Lord’s Cricket Floor in London as well as the Selfridges Building in Birmingham. Won the worldwide competition in 2007 for developing the National Collection from the Czech Republic, a task that was eventually canceled. He graduated from the faculty of Applied Arts and Structures and Style in Prague in 1962. He was in personal practice from 1964 until 1968. He fled to London following the Prague Planting season. He previously a futuristic, high-tech design, and was the business lead architect for the company, Long term Systems. He was the only real child born to some sculptor along with a botanical illustrator. He started a romantic relationship with fellow architect Eva Jiřičná in 1969. He aspired to become a forward thinking architect like Frank Lloyd Wright.
