Pioneer in contemporary classical music and champion of various honours, like the 1979 UNESCO Prize as well as the 1966 Herder Prize. He went to the Prague Conservatory and trained in the Bratislava Conservatory. His educators included Jaroslav Křička, Vítězslav Novák, and Felix Weingartner. He once kept the title Country wide Designer in Slovakia. He was created in Banská Bystrica, that was ultimately renamed Slovakia. His mom Mária Psotková was his 1st music instructor. He and Wislawa Szymborska had been both recipients from the Herder Prize.
