James Toseland

Biography

Singer who all initially rose to popularity as a specialist motorbike racer and became Globe Superbike Champ in 2004 and 2007. Nevertheless, after his pension in 2011, he became the frontman of his rock-band Toseland. He started acquiring piano lessons at age eight and started riding motorcross bicycles throughout the same age group. He is a motorbike racing coach for the Phil Burgan Competition Academy. He grew up mainly by his mom after his parents had been separated and following loss of life of his stepfather Ken Wright. He wedded vocalist Katie Melua in Sept 2012. He continues to be teammates with fellow motorbike racer Cal Crutchlow.

1On 9th September 2011 he officially retired from professional motorsport due to a wrist injury sustained in March 2011 at an official World Superbike Championship testing session at Motorland Aragon, Spain.
2He is one of only two men, the other being Troy Corser, to have won the Superbike World Championship for two different manufacturers.
3He was the 2007 World Superbike Champion on a Ten Kate Honda, who also won the 2004 Superbike World Championship on a Ducati.
