Appreciated for his political and medical jobs, this Irish-born surgeon tended to American soldiers through the Revolutionary Battle and continued to provide in the Maryland Home of Delegates. During his past due teenage years, he received his medical trained in Philadelphia, Pa, under Dr. Benjamin Hurry. He served in the wartime staffs of both George Washington as well as the Marquis de Lafayette. Delivered in Ballymena, North Ireland, he relocated to America at age 17. He was wedded to Peggy Caldwell. In the cupboard of Leader John Adams, McHenry kept the positioning of Secretary of Battle.
