James Finlayson

After appearing in a number of Mack Sennett-directed silent films from the 1920s, Finlayson produced a name for himself like a comedic actor in over two dozen Laurel and Hardy movies from the 1920s and 1930s. He made an appearance within the 1916 Broadway tour of Bunty Pulls the Strings, but remaining the display to go after a Hollywood performing profession. He became well-known for his brand comedic double consider mannerism, in addition to for his regular and humorous usage of the manifestation “d’ooooooh.” He and his sibling Robert was raised in Larbert, Stirlingshire, Scotland because the kids of Alexander Finlayson and Isabella Henderson. At age thirty-two, he wedded Emily Cora Gilbert. His many movies using the Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy humor team consist of Near Dublin, No Man’s Legislation, and Yes, Yes, Nanette.
