Before getting into the music business, she pursued a specialist profession as an equestrienne. In 2013, she was nominated for both a Canadian Radio Music Prize and a Canadian Nation Music Association Prize. She spent her start in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and the majority of her youth in Latimer, Iowa, U.S.A. During her teenage years, she resided in several state governments, including Wisconsin, Georgia, and Tx, before eventually splitting her time taken between Nashville, Tennessee and LA, California.
