Jack Spicer

Poet from the SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA Renaissance and known for My Vocabulary Did This if you ask me, a 2009 collection that earned the American Publication Honor for poetry. He’s also known for After Lorca. He went to the University or college of Redlands as well as the University or college of California, Berkeley. He trained a workshop at SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA State University that he known as “Poetry as Magic.” He was openly gay. He passed away at age forty from problems of alcoholism. He co-founded the Six Gallery, a SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA literary and overall performance venue where Defeat Era poet Allen Ginsberg recited his popular poem “Howl.”
