American businessman most widely known for distilling his personal type of Tennessee whiskey, which later on expanded in to the famous Jack port Daniel’s brand. His distillery was initially certified in 1866, but this is later on challenged by Peter Krass in the 2004 biography Bloodstream & Whiskey: THE LIFE SPAN and Instances of Jack port Daniel, who stated it had been 1875.
