Jack Cole


Remembered being a pioneer within the theatrical jazz dance genre, Cole choreographed Broadway musicals such as for example Kismet, Man of La Mancha, along with a Funny Thing Occurred on the path to the Forum and motion pictures such as 3 for the Display, THERE IS NO Business Like Display Business, and Moon More than Miami. He started his career on the Los Angeles-based Denishawn Dance Firm and continued to perform within the 1933 Broadway creation from the Imagine Sganarelle also to make his Broadway debut being a choreographer within the 1943 creation of Something for the Children. His choreographic design influenced the task of Bob Fosse, Alvin Ailey, Jerome Robbins, and several various other renowned dancers and choreographers. Blessed John Ewing Richter, he spent his first times in New Brunswick, NJ, and was afterwards disowned by his parents and delivered to boarding college. He choreographed the well-known “Diamonds Certainly are a Girl’s COMPANION” amount for the Marilyn Monroe feature Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.
