J. Anthony Lukas

American journalist and author whose best-known work, Common Floor: A Turbulent 10 years within the Lives of 3 American Family members, was posted in 1985. He went to Harvard University or college, where he published for The Harvard Crimson. He received two Pulitzer Awards: the very first in 1968 for Regional Reporting and the next in 1985 for General nonfiction. His mother’s suicide haunted him throughout his existence and eventually resulted in his personal suicide. He received the Pulitzer Reward generally nonfiction the entire year after Studs Terkel received exactly the same honor.
