Ivor Gurney

Among Westminster Abbey’s 16 Great Battle Poets. He was most widely known for his Five Elizabethan Tracks. He enlisted within the Gloucestershire Regiment in early 1915 through the initial World Battle. He began concentrating on his poetry while at battle. He was gassed during Globe War I and several believe it triggered him health issues through the entire span of his lifestyle. His dad David was a tailor and his mom Florence was a seamstress. He was lifelong close friends with Herbert Howells, whom he fulfilled while learning under Dr. Herbert Brewer. He researched with fellow composer Ralph Vaughn Williams.
