Isaiah Jackson

First African-American Conductor Emeritus from the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston. In 1966, he graduated cum laude from Harvard. In 1979, he was honored the initial Governor’s Prize for the Arts from the Commonwealth of Virginia. He previously three kids, Benjamin, Katharine, and Caroline, along with his wife Helen Tuntland. While associate conductor for the American Symphony Orchestra, he caused composer Leopold Stokowski.
