Ignaz Semmelweis

Pioneer in the usage of antiseptics during childbirth to decrease the pace of baby and mother loss of life. He launched the practice of hands cleaning and disinfection to doctors. His perception that microorganisms trigger disease was mainly ridiculed. When he refused to improve his position, he was focused on a mental asylum, where guards defeat him to loss of life 14 days later on. His parents, Josef and Teresia Müller Semmelweis, went a successful grocery store business. He backed the germ theory and antiseptic methods first launched by Joseph Lister.
