Ian Munro

Known for his repertoire’s breathtaking breadth, including rarely performed functions in the 19th and 20th decades. He studied numerous reputed pianists, including pupils of Bela Bartok and Alfred Cortot. His teaching profession included stints on the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music from 1995 until 1999, the School of New South Wales, as well as the Australian Country wide Academy of Music. He acknowledged being a mother or father to his deep curiosity about children’s music, composing Lucy’s Reserve from 1993 until 2006 and Children’s Concerto from 1999. He finished some of Franz Schubert’s unfinished piano parts for an record entitled Unfinished from 1997.
