Ian MacKaye

Well-known for fronting the Washington D.C.-structured punk bands Fugazi, Minimal Threat, The Teenage Idles, and Embrace, he’s also significant for his use the indie rock group The Evens. In his early years, he produced a band known as The Slinkees and performed lots entitled “I Drink Dairy.” His 1981 tune “Straight Advantage” expresses a clean living idea that stands in stark comparison towards the drug-heavy lifestyles of several of his fellow music artists. He and his musician sibling, Alec MacKaye, was raised in Washington D.C. as the sons of the Washington Post journalist. In 2008, Ian MacKaye welcomed his initial child with vocalist and drummer Amy Farina. A music manufacturer and a punk vocalist, MacKaye created solo function by Red Scorching Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante.
