Ian Athfield

Former leader of the brand new Zealand Institute of Architects. Known for such structures as Telecom Towers, Civic Square and Wellington Library, and Jade Stadium. He utilized corrugated iron, plaster, stainless, and fibre cup on his first projects. He regarded his era’s structures to become boring and started incorporating a vernacular design motivated by colonial structures into his buildings. He done the design from the Bangkok fast transport program. He was appointed Architectural Ambassador to Christchurch this year 2010 and 2011 following the Canterbury earthquakes. His initial major task was a house and studio room for his family members called Athfield Home; he wedded in 1962. He and professional Russell Crowe had been both delivered in New Zealand.
