Henry Smith

Kentucky-born politician who served as Governor of Tx when the state was even now a territory of Mexico. He participated in the Fight of Velasco, an 1832 turmoil between Tx citizens and their Mexican federal government. He passed on while taking part in the California Yellow metal Rush. Following the loss of life of his initial wife, Harriet Gillette, he wedded his wife’s sister, Elizabeth. Pursuing Elizabeth’s loss of life, he married another sister in the family members, Sarah. Beneath the Tx federal government of Sam Houston, Smith kept the positioning of Secretary from the Treasury.
