Biography

American stage and television actress who appeared in Earl Carroll’s Vanities in Broadway through the 1930s. She produced an un-credited display screen appearance within the 1952 film Dresses Ahoy! She produced guest performances on such well-known tv series as Blondie, Gilligan’s Isle, and The Like Sail boat. She was wedded to television professional Jim Backus from 1943 to 1989. Both co-authored a funny book entitled ONLY ONCE I Have fun. She was the longtime wife of tv superstar Jim Backus .
