Biography

Jazz and rock and roll fusion guitarist who all caused Canned Heat as well as the Rolling Stones, amongst others. He obtained fame within the Chicago Blues picture from the 1960s and performed the lead electric guitar for Charlie Musselwhite and Canned High temperature. With singing skill, he had not been as well referred to as his rock and roll ‘n’ move contemporaries like Mike Bloomfield and Jeff Beck/. He was created in Detroit, Michigan and was raised within a suburb of Chicago. After Mick Taylor’s departure in the Rolling Rocks, Mandel auditioned as his substitute, and recorded many tracks using the band on the 1976 album Dark & Blue.

1Was once touted to join The Rolling Stones following the departure of Mick Taylor but was beaten out for the job by Keith Richards' good buddy Ron Wood. In fact, Mandel played on several tracks on the Stones' 1976 album "Black and Blue".
