Harry Gant

Former NASCAR drivers well-known for his #33 Skoal Bandit car, which he utilized to gain numerous races through the 80’s and 90’s. At 52 years of age, he became the oldest drivers ever to earn a Sprint Glass race. He constructed his first competition car along with his close friends and raced on the dirt monitor in Hickory. He was well-known for all of the nicknames directed at him by supporters and mass media, including “Good-looking Harry Gant,” “The Bandit,” “Mr. Sept,” and “Great Groove Harry.” He wedded a woman called Peggy. He made an appearance in the 1983 Burt Reynolds automobile “Stroker Ace.”
