Harry Akst

Rose to popularity in 1925 when he wrote the tune Dinah with Sam M. Lewis and Joe Little. He began being a vaudeville pianist with performers Nora Bayes, Frank Fay and Al Jolson. He had written music for the movies Palmy Times, Rockabye, and Isle in the Sky. He was wedded to Rose Akst until his loss of life in 1963. His tune Dinah was documented by Bing Crosby.
