An American novelist and poet known for his literary usage of colloquial language and everyday images, he’s most well-known for works like the Undersea Hill, Karma Circuit, as well as the Dancing Beasts. He was an American expatriate and an associate of the Defeat Era. He graduated from Brooklyn University in 1938. He released his 1st poetry collection, The Undersea Hill, in 1953. He resided and published in Italy for five years. He was created for an unmarried Lithuanian Jewish female in Brooklyn, NY. He was close friends with Allen Ginsberg and many other Defeat writers.
