Hannah Callowhill Penn

Remembered on her behalf marriage to prominent Quaker, entrepreneur, and Province of Pa founder William Penn, this past due 17th and early 18th-century colonist successfully governed Pa during her husband’s six-year illness as well as for yet another eight years pursuing his death. She was raised in Bristol, Britain, as the kid of a product owner called Thomas Callowhill. She established sail for the brand new World at age twenty-eight. When he was producing plans for the introduction of Philadelphia, William Penn drew a Callowhill Road in to the map of the town to honor Hannah Callowhill Penn and her expanded family. Her relationship to William Penn led to nine children. Of these, just John, Thomas, Margaret, Richard, Dennis, and Louis survived to adulthood. She was William Penn’s second wife; if they wedded, she is at her mid-twenties, and he was in his early fifties.
