Hamiet Bluiett

Multi-instrumentalist and person in the Globe Saxophone Quartet. He founded The Clarinet Family members in the 1980s. He began playing saxophone at age ten and later on went to Southern Illinois College or university Carbondale. Harry Carney influenced him to go after a career like a saxophonist. He was among the founders from the Dark Artists’ Band of St. Louis in the 1960s. He was created in Brooklyn, Illinois near St. Louis. He became a member of the Charles Mingus Quintet in 1969.
