Friend of Béla Bartók and advocate of his function whose own musicality was characterized while Lisztian. He possessed a wide-ranging repertoire. He researched with Bartók and Zoltán Kodály in the Liszt Academy. He previously a recognized teaching career, starting at Southern Methodist College or university and moving towards the College or university of Michigan and lastly towards the Juilliard College. He was wedded to Christa in 1950 who was simply the ex-wife of Archduke Karl Pius of Austria. Collectively that they had a boy, Michael, before divorcing. He participated in the premiere of Bartók’s Piano Concerto No. 3 using the Philadelphia Orchestra as carried out by Eugene Ormandy.
