Anheuser-Busch chairman from 1946 until 1975 and grandson of founder Adolphus. He possessed the St. Louis Cardinals from 1953 until his loss of life. He presided over a number of the Cardinals’ most effective years, earning six National Group championships and three Globe Series. He wedded Alice Edna Zisemann, who afterwards donated $70,000 to get a memorial on her behalf hubby. He and Alice acquired a son called August Busch III.
