Gus Edwards

Biography

Known for compositions such as for example Meet Me Beneath the Wisteria and IN MY OWN Merry Oldsmobile. He was also a music publisher and vaudevillian. He became a member of The Newsboys Quintet work after famous vaudeville agent Wayne Hyde noticed him carrying out at Johnny Palmer’s Gaiety Saloon in Brooklyn when he was 17. He was posthumously inducted in to the Songwriters Hall of Popularity in 1970. He utilized to function in his family’s cigar shop. He wedded Lillian Boulanger in 1905. He was portrayed by Bing Crosby in the film The Celebrity Manufacturer from 1939.
