Gus Edson

Biography

Rose to popularity for creating the long-running comic series Dondi as well as the Gumps, which he drew for more than 24 years. He offered in the U.S. Military and studied on the Artwork Students Group. Sidney Smith, the initial creator from the Gumps, passed away in 1935. His parents, Emma and Utmost Edson, got him in Cincinnati, Ohio. Professional Martin Landau proved helpful as his helper through the early ’50s.
