Italian American legal scholar who served as Dean of Yale Law School. He was appointed towards the U.S. Courtroom of Appeals for the next Circuit in 1994. His family members emigrated from Milan, Italy to New Haven, Connecticut to flee the fascist routine in Italy. He continued to graduate summa cum laude from Yale University. He was the youngest full-time teacher ever employed at Yale Rules College and during his tenure he trained the observed justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas and Sonia Sotomayor. He wedded the anthropologist Anne Gordon Audubon Tyler. He was appointed towards the Courtroom of Appeals by U.S. Leader Costs Clinton, also a graduate of Yale Rules School.
