Grant Tinker

Biography

Longtime NBC chairman and CEO from 1981 until 1986. He co-founded MTM Corporations with his previous wife, celebrity and comedienne Mary Tyler Moore. He proved helpful in the air section of NBC. He was referred to as the person who kept NBC, because of greenlighting The Cosby Present, Family members Ties, The Golden Women, Cheers, and many other hit displays. He was wedded to Moore for 19 years from 1962 until 1981. Their business spawned Rhoda, The Bob Newhart Display, WKRP in Cincinnati, as well as other Television classics. He employed Adam L. Brooks and Allan Melts away to generate and generate his wife’s eponymous sitcom.
