Gilbert Ryle

Wittgensteinian United kingdom philosopher who was simply a critic of Cartesian dualism. He analyzed Viewpoint at Queen’s University at Oxford. He coined the term the ghost in the device. He wrote The idea of Brain in 1949. His sibling John became a teacher and his sibling George became the king’s doctor. He disagreed with Rene Descartes’ idea that character was a complicated machine.
