Important jazz artist who contributed greatly towards the evolution of awesome jazz, modal jazz, free of charge jazz, and jazz fusion. He resided at Westbeth Performers Community after relocating to NEW YORK in the forties. He was an arranger for the Claude Thornhill Orchestra from 1941 until 1948. He was created a Green, but was presented with his stepfather’s last name Evans while he was still youthful. He and Kilometers Davis were regular collaborators.
