Architect and home furniture designer well-known for his Crimson and Blue Seat, a good example of the De Stijl artistic motion. The Rietveld Schröder Home is really a UNESCO Globe Heritage Site. He opened up a furniture store in 1917 and afterwards set up a company being a cabinetmaker. He became a member of the De Stijl motion in 1919. He started the design from the Truck Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, but passed away before its conclusion. His dad was a carpenter, with whom he started apprenticing when he was 11. His Rietveld Schröder Home, a cooperation with Truus Schröder-Schräder, acquired a powerful effect on Han Schröder, Truus’ little girl; she became among Netherlands’ pioneering feminine architects. He was asked by architect Walter Gropius to demonstrate his just work at the Bauhaus.
