Royal Navy officer who mapped away the coastlines of Washington, Oregon, and United kingdom Columbia. He was commissioned with the Royal Navy to study the Pacific Coastline of THE UNITED STATES and to discover any rivers hooking up the Pacific using the Atlantic. He mapped out an integral part of the Columbia river, which he called Support Hood. His dad, John Jasper Vancouver, was a traditions collector at King’s Lynn. His initial ship assignment happened with an expedition with Adam Cook.
