Middle and long-distance runner who competed on the 2012 London Summer months Olympics and won the 1500 meters on the 2012 Globe Indoor Championships. She was the next junior girl to earn two consecutive junior cross-country championships: the 2008 and 2009 IAAF Globe CROSS-COUNTRY Championships. She broke the Ethiopian record for the 1500 meters competition on the 2012 Globe Indoor Championships, to arrive at 3:57.77 minutes. She was created into a category of Olympians: her cousin was Olympic 10,000-meters champ Derartu Tulu and her sisters had been gold medalist Ejegayehu Dibaba and silver medalist Tirunesh Dibaba. She was created in the community of Bekoji, the same village where another famed Olympic runner, Kenenisa Bekele, was also born.
