Gary Bettenhausen

21-period Indy 500 competitor, who was simply the 1967 and 1971 Sprint car champ. He started his career race midget vehicles. He was inducted in to the Country wide Sprint Car Hall of Popularity in 1993. His dad, Tony Bettenhausen, was also a popular sprint car and Indy 500 racer. His greatest Indy 500 efficiency arrived in 1980, when he completed third behind Tom Sneva and champion Johnny Rutherford.
