Gabriel Arenas


Defensive midfielder who began his professional career with Atletico Madrid and later on returned towards the team following a 4 year spell with Getafe and Zaragoza. He’s often called Gabi. He’s a product from the Atletico Madrid youngsters system and 1st appeared as a specialist using the golf club in 2002. He produced 19 international looks for Spain, 7 which had been for the Under-20 golf club. He was created in Madrid. He was teammates with Diego Godin through the 2014 season.

Arenas now holds the Wizards' franchise record for most points scored in a game by an individual. The previous record was held by Earl Monroe with 56 points, achieved in 1968 which was also an overtime game against the Lakers. His 16 points in the extra period also set an NBA record for most points in one overtime period, surpassing Earl Boykins' record by one point.
