American aircraft engine designer, aviation engineer, and founder of Pratt & Whitney Airplane. Being a Captain within the U.S. Military during World Battle I, he inspected Hispano-Suiza airplane engines produced under French permit. He was honored the Daniel Guggenheim Medal for American Anatomist in 1956. His mother’s family members possessed the Republic Electric motor Car Co. that constructed Republic vehicles from 1910 until 1916. Charles Lindbergh was one of the well-known pilots to utilize the airplane engines developed by his company.
