Fred Tuttle

Retired dairy farmer who became a favorite Senate candidate in Vermont in 1998 but ultimately dropped following endorsing his challenger. He made an appearance in the movies Nosey Parker and Man with an idea. He joined the political competition in a promotion stunt, within the 1996 film Man With an idea, produced by his next-door-neighbor. He amazed everybody – primarily himself – by earning the Republican major, helped along by smart slogans like ‘I’ve spent my very existence in the barn – right now I wish to spend a while inside your home.’ He was raised in Tunbridge, Vermont. Like him Ethan Allen was another Vermont politician who helped the forming of the state.
