Frank Jack Fletcher

World Battle II hero who led American naval forces in the Fight from the Coral sea and in the Fight of Midway. He graduated through the U.S. Naval Academy in 1906 and participated in armed service actions at Vera Cruz, Mexico. He received the Medal of Honor, the Navy Mix, as well as the Navy Recognized Service Medal during the period of his profession. He was created in Marshalltown, Iowa. He and Raymond Spruance had been both commanders in the Fight of Midway. Fletcher, actually, turned tactical control to Spruance after Fletcher’s carrier, the Yorktown, was seriously damaged.
