Francisco Zuniga

Known for such modernist politics and figurative sculptures as La Maternidad and Sitting Yucatan Woman, he received a prestigious 1958 honor through the Mexican Country wide Institute of Good Arts. He researched briefly at Mexico’s Escuela de Bellas Artes, but fallen out and only conducting his personal research of German expressionist artwork. He was the 1992 receiver of Mexico’s Country wide Reward for Arts and Sciences. His sculptures, paintings, and drawings received long term homes at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Artwork and Mexico City’s Museo de Arte Moderno, among additional museums. Created in Costa Rica to sculptor parents, he shifted completely to Mexico in the middle-1930s. His relationship to Elena Laborde led to three kids: Marcela, Ariel, and Javier. He was affected by the task of French sculptor Aristide Maillol.
