Vaudeville and Broadway performer who appeared in Shuffle Along and Lew Leslie’s Blackbirds. She became well-known for her renditions of “I’m Cravin’ for this Kind of Like” and “I’m just a little Blackbird Buying Bluebird.” She and her two sisters produced a vaudeville action known as The Mills Sisters. She passed away of tuberculosis at age thirty-two. She was created in Washington, D.C. to Nellie Simon and John Winfrey. She performed in the musical Shuffle Along, which highlighted music and lyrics by Noble Sissle.
