Survivor of Nazi genetic tests who later on founded the CANDLES museum to reveal the Holocaust and eugenics. She spent nine weeks in the infamous Auschwitz focus camp, where she underwent eugenics tests that included shots of lethal bacterial strains. She publicly forgave the Nazis and their mind doctor, Josef Mengele. Her decision was explored in the documentary film Forgiving Dr. Mengele. She and her sister had been among the many pairs of twins who have been put through lethal tests by Dr. Mengele and his personnel. She and fellow Auschwitz-Birkenau survivors had been liberated due to Witold Pilecki’s reviews on the focus camp.
