Ernestine Jackson

African-American theatrical performer who received Tony nominations on her behalf roles in Men and Dolls and Raisin. Her various other Broadway credits are the Bacchae and Applause. In 1967, she produced her debut for the Broadway stage within an all-black creation of Hello, Dolly! She got made an appearance on such tv shows as The Western world Wing and Rules & Purchase. She was raised in Corpus Christi, Tx. She wedded Darryl Foster. She and Debbie Allen both made an appearance on Broadway in Raisin (a musical version of Lorraine Hansberry’s well-known play, A Raisin in sunlight).
